This week in my Core 456 (Digital Revolution) class, we discussed how WordPress has taken over much of the web development landscape, shifting the focus from traditional HTML and CSS to content management and digital publishing. Instead of hand-coding every element, we explored how WordPress simplifies the process, making it easier to build, customize, and manage websites without extensive programming knowledge. Our discussions centered on how this shift has changed the role of web developers, allowing them to focus more on design, functionality, and user experience rather than just code. We also practiced posting and managing content on WordPress, gaining firsthand experience with the tools that power many of today’s internet. This transition highlights how web development is evolving, balancing technical skills with modern platforms that streamline the process.
